Maillard Vincent

Vincent Maillard was born in Paris in 1957, and when he was young he moved to Italy and attended the Ligurian Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa. In 1977 he held his first exhibition of watercolors in Milan that is appreciated by audiences and critics.
In the same year he became interested in pottery, the material in which he finds its fullest expression; the gallerist Piera Gaudenzi noticed the Maillard talent and offered him a solo exhibition at the gallery "Il Vicolo" in Genoa.
Since then, he held numerous exhibitions in galleries and public spaces. His work is followed with interest by artists, critics and personalities from the world of culture such as Emanuele Luzzati and Flavio Baroncelli. In the eighties Maillard knew Sergio Noberini, now Director of the Luzzati Museum, and he was in contact with the disabled boys David Chiossone Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired of Genoa from which held some artistic workshops. This experience will be processed and translated the works of those years. The shy and reserved character, great observer of the world and of different behaviors and aspects of mankind, through its terracotta creates a slight universe. His men are created to represent existence stories, metaphors, rich stories of irony and poetry that are the mirror of our living together as men.
